Computers always look gray and drag? A company now shows that it goes differently and presents a housing in bright colors, which is composed of yourself like a kit. A YouTuber has tried the case.
That's why it's time: Gray, black or even blacker. Computer housing have the call to offer little for the human eye. Often, the inner life such as graphics card or fans is flashing like a billboard. A housing, which is flashing or at least colored, get rarely to face. Even rarer you can currently see only graphics cards at an affordable price.
But now a manufacturer shows that it works differently. Thus, Teenage Engineering presented the housing Computer-1, which appears in bright orange and thus rather reminiscent of a construction site or warning signs than a gaming PC.
The YouTube channel Hardware Canucks tried the case and visually impressed. Although the price of just under 190 euros appears high, but you get a high-quality case for its money, even if the assembly allows little mistake.
A cool but extremely compact PC case
Why is that special? The special thing about the housing is not only the color, but also the way the housing is built. Because in the scope of delivery you only get the punched plates, screws and other accessories.
Then you have to assemble the complete housing yourself. This is reminiscent of kits of fishing technology or modeling of Reveal. When assembling, however, you have to be hellishly careful how the YouTuber explains. Because if one bends a component wrong, then it is difficult to reverse the mistake.
You can see the entire review in the YouTube video of Hardware Canucks. We have embedded the English video here for you.
unsuitable for a gaming PC
For a full-fledged gaming PC, the housing is only conditionally suited, explains the YouTuber. Because in the housing is only suitable for minority motherboards and graphics cards may not be longer than 180 mm. Minority is a particularly small format for motherboards.
Many common graphics cards are much longer or need a lot of space due to their cooling. Example: The GeForce RTX 3060, the smallest RTX 3000 graphics card, needs 242 mm in the housing and would not fit. Tips and hints, where you should pay attention to the purchase of a housing, you will find us on Mango.
The housing is enough space for a processor with a comprehensive cooling solution. In addition, the YouTuber explains that the temperatures in the housing are surprisingly good. But one must also note that he had not installed a processor with a fleet GPU.
Incidentally, you can buy the housing directly from the manufacturer (via teenage. Engineering), but at the current time (6.12.2021), however, the case is sold out.
