But now it seems like the World Association Fiba and the NBA move closer together. The NBA also seems to promote her plans for a Europe league - if that happens, everything suddenly looks very different.
Especially in the Euroleague comparison, Bayern and Berlin are still not part of the elite. Why is the German club hard to catch up in comparison to foreign countries - this can only be explained with economic conditions?

This is certainly one of the main reasons. We have no fair market in European basketball. But there are other reasons. If you play in the Euroleague, this is not just for the coaches and the players, but to the back office a completely different challenge for the entire club. That s why I find that Bayern have hit exactly the right way. Certainly it would have been possible that they would have gone into the Euroleague with a significantly higher budget. But you want to move a development step by step.
The Euroleague offers attractive sports, but can it be able to enhance the enthusiasm for basketball in Germany alone? Finally, there are also numerous clubs that move away from the Euroleague.
First of all, I think that the fans of Göttingen or casting are glad that the big clubs are not completely focused on the league, because outsider victories are still still possible. That makes the league exciting. As for the discussion about the enthusiasm for basketball - I have been active in basketball for over 30 years and since then this debate will be led. In Germany, there are two effects that are decisive: the radiant NBA gets scary a lot of attention, the football is in the public perception and in the reporting also uncanny dominant. You can complain that, I do not do that. In the last 15 years, much in basketball has done so scary, whether the NBA and Euroleage players are, the coaching and youth training, the filled halls or reporting on television. Great steps are not possible, but why? Alba Berlin is present, for example, to schools and kitas and leads children slowly to basketball.
